What should I know?
- Maximum admission age: 55 years
- Maximum insurance period: 48 months
- Minimum insurance period: 1 month
- Cover can be extended prior to expiry of the policy by phone, post, fax or e-mail
Tip: an application for a prolongation of your contract could be rejected, therefore it would be recommendable if you conclude a contract for the whole duration of your stay.
- Method of payment: monthly
- Cancellation: anytime, effective to the last day of the month
- without own risk (except baggage insurance)
- with home country outside Germany valid in Germany, the European Union and Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Iceland.

What restrictions on the coverage have to be considered?
Benefits not insured include e.g.
- Illnesses and results of accidents, for treatment of which travel is being undertaken, as well as costs for treatment which was known and should have been undertaken before the planned start of travel, and illnesses and results of accidents which occurred prior to the policy taking effect.
- All types of preventive examinations, or routine checks or inoculations, as well as nutriments and restorer
- orthodontia therapies, dental treatment, with more than anodyne treatment, repair of dental prosthesis or inlays and crowns (Student Comfort® tariff only)
- Abortion, existing pregnancy prior to the policy taking effect, otherwise always a qualifying period of 8 months, orthodontia therapies, dental treatment, with more than anodyne treatment, repair of dental prosthesis or inlays and crowns (Student Classic® tariff only)
- treatment of alcohol or drug-related illnesses and other addictions and their consequences as well as attempt and completed suicide
- Treatment for psychiatric or mental disorders as well as hypnosis and psychotherapy
- medical fees which exceed the appropriate usual fee of the related country as well as optional benefits like single room or treatment by the head of the department
How can I take out the insurance?
Online:
You can take out your insurance over the Internet using our online form. Simply enter your personal details. As result the system shows you your personal details and you insurance policy number. The contract than was successful completed.
Post or fax:
Simply download the German-English application form as a PDF file, complete it, and then send it by post or fax it to the address on the form.
Application as PDF file
You will receive your insurance policy after a few days (it can also be sent by fax or e-mail upon request). The charges will be debited from your account.

The module student baggage (baggage insurance, including complementary baggage insurance) can be added within the tariffs Student Classic and Student Comfort or conclude independent.
